Our eggs

Just as nature intended

Whether you’re a seasoned organic egg lover or you’re wondering what all the fuss is about, we’ve got a thing or two to tell you. Our main aim is to work with nature, so all of our hens have the healthiest life possible. This involves them living in smaller flocks with tonnes of space to run around, but it’s also the land they live on and the way we rear them that makes the difference.

What’s an organic egg, anyway?

You might be wondering what goes into making an egg organic. Having access to the outdoors is important, which is why our eggs are 100% free range, but there’s more to it than that. In a nutshell, there are standards a farm needs to meet in order to be classed as organic (head to our farms to find out more).

Reasons to choose
organic eggs

With nature at our heart, there’s no doubt that the way we do things is better for our hens and the planet. Here’s why we recommend making the switch to our free range organic eggs.

  1. Reason 1

    It’s good for the planet

Using zero chemicals is better for everyone. By nurturing the farms our hens live on instead, we’re encouraging local wildlife to thrive, including hedgerows and all their insect inhabitants. Read more about this on our biodiversity page.

  2. Reason 2

    It’s good for our hens

Everything we do is for the welfare of our free range hens, with no pressure from our farmers, routine antibiotics or genetically-modified food. Instead, they eat organic feed and can also forage for fruit, insects and bugs.

  3. Reason 3

    They’re pure

Did you know that to earn an organic certification, a farm’s land has to have been chemical-free for at least two years? That means no insecticides, pesticides or fertilisers. In fact, creepy crawlies are encouraged on our farms.

  4. Reason 4

    They’re full of goodness

Our eggs are a good source of protein and packed with all-important vitamins and minerals, including vitamins B6, B12 and D, and copper, iron and zinc. Making them a superb addition to a healthy lifestyle – and a versatile ingredient for a whole bunch of recipes.

  5. Reason 5

    They taste great

We might be biased, but we think that organic eggs taste great. Some say it’s down to what the hens are fed. That’s true, but we say it’s also down to a combination of other things, from stress-free lifestyles to having ample space to roam, with a maximum of 6 birds per square metre.
