Yes organic hens must have continuous day time access to an outdoor range until it’s time for bed.
Organic hens are kept in small flocks which ensures we are able to uphold the highest standards of welfare. Organic hens have access to outdoor ranges, so our hens can decide for themselves when they relax in the barn or go for an adventure outside. Organic hens are never fed antibiotics and are fed a GM free diet. They also eat a variety of plants, grubs and insects, keeping them healthy and varying their diet.
Purely Organic eggs always come from hens who have never been given hormones or antibiotics.
At Purely Organic, all of our feed is organic, natural & GM free. This means that we know exactly what our hens are eating. Their feed contains organic wheat, maize, soya along with many other vitamins and minerals. When our hens aren’t eating organic feed they are pecking at fresh fruit, foraging in natural grasses and eating insects and bugs. This gives our hens a varied diet and keeps them healthy.
Our hens spend their days foraging through organic pastures full of natural grasses, herbs and clovers and enjoy pecking at fruit. They are given wide open, outdoor space whenever they want to explore, and are never packed into small spaces. At Purely Organic we are proud of our first class animal welfare standards where the welfare of our hens is our top priority.
